LE K9 Bert- Soft Tissue Sarcoma radiation- *COMPLETED*
LE K9 Bert had a soft tissue sarcoma removed from his hind right leg in April of this year. Our wonderful surgeon was able to remove it, but with only narrow margin. With this kind of cancer, it was recommended by our Oncologist to do a 17 round radiation protocol to stop the cancer from coming back unless we wanted to amputate the leg. We decided to try to save the leg and do the radiation. Bert is a rambunctious, happy dog, who has been doing fantastic through his treatment. He started the protocol on 05NOV2020, and will have them every weekday (except Thanksgiving) through all of November. The total for his treatment is estimated to be $6,600.00 Bert has successfully completed his radiation protocol! Thank you to Mission K9 Rescue for their coverage of his treatments! |
MWD Rudy M436- Oral Melanoma- Emergency Surgery and Radiation- **ENDED**
MWD Rudy M436 had already had to survive an amputation from a soft tissue sarcoma in January of 2020, and suddenly we found a mass in has mouth that required emergency surgery on 15OCT2020. The emergency surgery cost $3,300. He was immediately sent to the Oncologist, as it was suspected to be an Oral melanoma, which is a very aggressive form of cancer. He was sent in for a CT scan to see how far it had spread for $1,700. Once it was determined that the cancer had not yet spread, he was scheduled for a 6 round radiation protocol. The estimate for that was $3,300. Rudy has an amazing guardian Angel that has covered his Radiation treatment. They would like to be anonymous. We are very grateful for their help at this very difficult time. We would like to thank the Colorado War Dog Memorial for their generous donation towards Rudy's emergency mass removal surgery. |
